Founding Deposit — Home

A refundable deposit that holds your Founding Member №. The Founding Sixteen are sixteen numbered memberships — twelve Home, four Studio — and this deposit is how an application begins. $500 holds a Home number; $1,000 holds a Studio number. The count you see on this page is live: it is the actual number of founding seats remaining.

What the deposit does

• Holds your Founding Member № while you apply — nobody else can take it while your application is reviewed
• Starts the application: after checkout, the written application arrives by email — a few questions about your archive and your household, answered at your convenience, reviewed with care
• Refundable in full until you are accepted. If we are not the right fit, or you change your mind before acceptance, it comes back whole
• Credited on acceptance. The moment you are accepted, the deposit becomes the first $500 or $1,000 of your founding year — it is never an extra fee

What happens after the review

If we can serve you exceptionally — that is the whole standard — you receive a written invitation with a 10-day window and a private link to confirm your founding year: $8,995 for Home, $19,995 for Studio, everything included, with the founding rate locked at renewal for as long as your membership is continuous. After acceptance, your founding year is confirmed with you in writing and is final. If we cannot serve you at that standard, we say so plainly, in writing, and return the deposit in full.
