Do the apps do anything better?
Yes, and here it is plainly: for the very hardest problems, the newest outside models still have an edge. That is exactly why your assistant can call on them — when a job earns it, with your approval once, for a while, or always — and it is paid for out of the same fee. Your own machine is the default; the outside help is there for the jobs that earn it. You are not choosing between them. You are choosing where your life is kept.
What happens if I cancel?
The service is annual, and the machine stays ours. Stopping ends the service at the end of the paid year; we collect the machine, or wipe the one in our cabinet, and delete the trained model, confirmed in writing. What you keep is everything you were given to keep — your own material, the written scopes, the Assessment's scope and demonstration, and the backup copy of your material on the drive you own — the trained model is not on that drive. Cancel a rented app and you walk away with nothing.
Which one is you?
Stay with an app if you dip into AI now and then, you are not handing it anything private, and you do not want one more thing on the shelf. Begin the first year if the same work comes back week after week, it runs on your own papers — or your clients’ — you care where each thing goes, or you simply want the work running on your own machine, on your own material.
