Two numbers: $9,995 the first year — everything included. $5,995 each year after. The obvious question is why they differ, and the obvious suspicion is that one of them is a discount or an introductory rate.
Neither. They differ because the first year contains work the later years do not. The first year costs more because it contains the preparation — your archive prepared and loaded by hand under a written scope, and your assistant built on it — as well as the first year of the service; every year after is the service running.
What the first year contains
The written scope. Before anything is loaded, you receive in writing what we will hold, what we can see, and what stays out. Nothing goes in that the scope does not name.
Your material prepared and loaded, by hand. The unglamorous majority of the work: getting the words out of your documents, dealing with scans, finding duplicates and near-duplicates, and surfacing the contradictions so you can decide which version is authoritative.
Your assistant built on it. The prepared material goes into an encrypted space of your own in our private cloud on Amazon Web Services, organized so that answers come from your own records, with citations. There is nothing to build or ship, which is why it is ready in days rather than weeks.
Your connections set up. Whatever the assistant needs to reach — mail, calendar, files — connected for you. The credentials that connect your accounts are held in a secrets vault and never shown to the models.
Then the service itself — the same thing every later year contains.
What every year contains
Ongoing loading as your material grows. Not a one-off event. Your correspondence and documents keep arriving, and an assistant that stopped reading last spring is slowly becoming a record of the past. New material goes in as it arrives, and it is our job rather than something you schedule.
The models, inside the fee. The strongest commercial models are part of the service — chosen by us for each kind of work, reached over private networking inside our own cloud boundary, and paid for out of the same fee. No meter, no surcharge for the hard questions.
Monitoring and backups. Backups run continuously, encrypted; restoring them is our job. If something drifts, we catch it before you do.
Support in writing, from the people who built your assistant.
The service as our problem. If it breaks, we fix it; if we cannot, the remainder of the paid year is returned. You will never be asked to diagnose anything.
What is not in the price, and never appears later
No start fee. No usage charge. No per-person charge. No meter, whatever you ask it in a given month — using it more does not move the bill.
The models' own costs are inside the fee as well, however heavily you lean on them. There is no true-up at the end of the year; sales tax at checkout is the only figure not already on this page.
What you hold at the end of the year
This is the part most likely to be glossed over elsewhere, so here it is directly.
There is no object, and there is no asset. The first version of this service came with hardware we placed; it does not any more, and we would rather say so than let you picture a box. What the year buys is the preparation and the care — which is what the two numbers describe, and why the first one is larger.
Your space is yours alone while the service runs. Every record in it is scoped to you — never pooled, never shared, never used to train anyone else's model. You can ask for a complete copy of your material at any time, not only on the way out, and receive it.
And when the service ends, nothing stays behind. Your space and everything in it is deleted, and the deletion is confirmed to you in writing. There is nothing for you to store, sell or dispose of.
The honest comparison
Against two or three consumer AI subscriptions, this is more expensive in cash. It was always going to be. A subscription rents you a very good general assistant; it does not prepare your archive, it does not answer from your own records with the citation attached, and keeping any of that in order is nobody's job but yours. What the year buys is that your own material can be used at all, in a space of your own, and that none of the work is yours.
Whether that trade is worth it depends on whether you have questions only your own records can answer. If you cannot name three, the honest answer is to wait.
